Transacting business without license--bond--penalty.

415.040. Any person or persons who shall transact within acity now having or which shall hereafter have a population oftwenty-five thousand inhabitants or more, the business of storingfor compensation or consideration other property than grain,without first procuring a license and giving a bond or legalliability insurance policy as provided in sections 415.010 to415.050, who shall continue to transact such business after suchlicense has been revoked, or such bond may have become void orfound insufficient security for the penal sum in which it isexecuted by the court approving the same (save only that he maybe permitted to deliver property previously stored in suchwarehouse), shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and uponconviction, be fined in a sum not less than one hundred dollarsnor more than five hundred dollars for each and every day suchbusiness is carried on; and the court that issued may refuse torenew any license, or grant a new one, to any person whoselicense has been revoked, within one year from the time same wasrevoked.
