429.240. When the debtor has been served with summonsaccording to law, or appears to the action without service, thejudgment, if for the plaintiff, shall be against such debtor asin ordinary cases, with the addition that if no sufficientproperty of the debtor can be found to satisfy such judgment andcosts of suit, then the residue thereof be levied as provided insection 429.230.
