Power to administer oaths, issue subpoenas, compel witnesses andproduce documents.

454.401. 1. In all actions relating to the establishment ofpaternity, or to the establishment, modification or enforcement of asupport order instituted pursuant to this chapter or upon request of a IV-Dagency of another state, the director of the division shall have the powerto administer oaths, issue subpoenas, compel witnesses and to require theproduction of books, accounts, documents and evidence.

2. If a person refuses to comply with a subpoena issued pursuant tosubsection 1 of this section, the director may request the circuit court toissue an order requiring the person to appear before the director or thedirector's designee to produce such subpoenaed documentary evidence or givetestimony. The court may issue an order which justice requires to protectsuch a person from undue annoyance, embarrassment, expense or oppression.If such person fails to comply with such an order, the court may find suchperson to be in contempt of court.
