Payment of benefit due, discharge from liability.

454.624. In the case of any claim submitted by thecustodial parent for care provided to a minor child who isenrolled as an eligible dependent pursuant to an order or noticeof health benefit plan coverage, the health benefit planadministrator or insurer shall, in the absence of an assignmentof benefits to the health care provider with respect to suchclaim or proof of payment by the noncustodial parent, pay to thecustodial parent any benefit due. The health benefit planadministrator or insurer shall be fully discharged from any andall liability on the claim to the extent of such payments to thecustodial parent.
