Duties and powers of municipal judge.

479.070. The municipal judge shall be a conservator of thepeace. He shall keep a docket in which he shall enter every casecommenced before him and the proceeding therein and he shall keepsuch other records as required. Such docket and records shall berecords of the circuit court. The municipal judge shall deliversaid docket and records and all books and papers pertaining tohis office to his successor in office or to the presiding judgeof the circuit. The municipal judge shall have the power toadminister oaths and enforce due obedience to all orders, rulesand judgments made by him, and may fine or imprison for contemptcommitted before such judge while holding court, in the samemanner and to the same extent as a circuit judge.
