Additional $5 court cost imposed, municipal ordinanceviolations--waiver, when--collection (St. Louis City).

488.2215. 1. In addition to all other court costs for municipalordinance violations any city not within a county may provide foradditional court costs in an amount up to five dollars per case for eachmunicipal ordinance violation case filed before a municipal division judgeor associate circuit judge.

2. The judge may waive the assessment of the cost in those caseswhere the defendant is found by the judge to be indigent and unable to paythe costs.

3. Such cost shall be collected by the clerk and disbursed to thecity at least monthly. The city shall use such additional costs only forthe restoration, maintenance and upkeep of the municipal courthouses. Thecosts collected may be pledged to directly or indirectly secure bonds forthe cost of restoration, maintenance and upkeep of the courthouses.
