Original deed lost--certified copy of deed, evidence when.

490.310. Whenever it shall appear that the original deed orconveyance in any of the cases specified in sections 490.280 to490.300 has been lost or destroyed, or is not in the power of theparty who wishes to use it, a certified copy of the recordthereof, and of the certificate of acknowledgment or proof, shallbe received in evidence upon like proof as is required in case ofthe original, and with like effect.
