Attachment to be executed as in criminal cases--cost.

491.340. Every such attachment may be directed to anysheriff or other officer provided by law of the county in whichthe witness resides, and shall be executed in the same manner asa warrant in a criminal case; and the fees of the officer forissuing and serving the same shall be paid by the person againstwhom the same shall have been issued, unless he show reasonablecause, to the satisfaction of the associate circuit judge, forhis omission to attend, in which case the party requiring suchattendance shall pay all costs of such attachment.
