Persons having claims against plaintiff may be joined as defendantsand required to interplead, when.

507.060. Persons having claims against the plaintiff may bejoined as defendants and required to interplead when their claimsare such that the plaintiff is or may be exposed to double ormultiple liability. It is not ground for objection to thejoinder that the claims of the several claimants or the titles onwhich their claims depend do not have a common origin or are notidentical but are adverse to and independent of one another, orthat the plaintiff avers that he is not liable in whole or inpart to any or all of the claimants. A defendant exposed tosimilar liability may obtain such interpleader by way ofcross-claim or counterclaim. The provisions of this sectionsupplement and do not in any way limit the joinder of partiespermitted in section 507.040.
