Motions, form of.

509.280. 1. An application to the court for an order shallbe by motion which, unless made during a hearing or trial, shallbe made in writing, shall state with particularity the groundstherefor, and shall set forth the relief or order sought. Therequirement of writing is fulfilled if the motion is stated in awritten notice of the hearing of the motion.

2. The provisions applicable to captions, signing, and othermatters of form of pleadings apply to all motions and otherpapers provided for by this code.
