Instructions.

510.300. 1. At the close of all the evidence, or at suchearlier time during the trial as the court may reasonably direct,any party may request that the court instruct the jury in writingon the law applicable to the issues in evidence in the case.Such instructions so requested to be submitted in writing by theparty requesting the same, and may be given or refused by thecourt according to the law and the evidence in the case. Thecourt may also instruct the jury in writing of its own motion.The court shall afford ample opportunity for counsel to examinethe instructions before the same are given and to make objectionsout of the hearing of the jury.

2. Instructions which are refused shall be so marked by thecourt and filed with the clerk. All instructions given shall becarried by the jury to their room and returned and filed at theconclusion of their deliberations. All instructions refused andall instructions given shall be kept as part of the record of thecause.
