Trial or proceeding shall not be terminated by expiration of term.

510.320. No trial or proceeding in any civil or criminalcase shall be terminated by the expiration of the term at whichit was commenced, but such trial or proceeding may proceed untilit is concluded in all respects as if the term had not expired,or same may be continued to an adjourned or special term, or tothe next regular term, as the court may direct.
