Governor may offer reward for escaped felon--payment.

544.145. The governor may offer a reward of not to exceedthree hundred dollars for the apprehension and delivery to theproper sheriff or other officer designated by him, of any personcharged with or convicted of a felony and who has broken prison,escaped or fled from justice and absconded or secreted himself.The proper sheriff on delivery of the fugitive shall give hisreceipt therefor and the governor, upon presentation of thereceipt, shall certify the amount of the reward to thecommissioner of administration for payment out of the statetreasury.
