Authority to require registered sexual offenders to provide access topersonal home computer.

589.042. The court or the board of probation and parole shall havethe authority to require a person who is required to register as a sexualoffender under sections 589.400 to 589.425, RSMo, to give his or herassigned probation or parole officer access to his or her personal homecomputer as a condition of probation or parole in order to monitor andprevent such offender from obtaining and keeping child pornography or fromcommitting an offense under chapter 566, RSMo. Such access shall allow theprobation or parole officer to view the Internet use history, computerhardware, and computer software of any computer, including a laptopcomputer, that the offender owns.
