Commissioner appointed, membership of state council.

589.512. Each member state shall create a State Council forInterstate Adult Offender Supervision which shall be responsible for theappointment of the commissioner who shall serve on the InterstateCommission from that state. Each state council shall appoint as itscommissioner the Compact Administrator from that state to serve on theInterstate Commission in such capacity under or pursuant to applicable lawof the member state. While each member state may determining themembership of its own state council, its membership must include at leastone representative from the legislative, judicial, and executive branchesof government, victims groups and compact administrators. Each compactingstate retains the right to determine the qualifications of the CompactAdministrator who shall be appointed by the state council or by theGovernor in consultation with the Legislature and the Judiciary. Inaddition to appointment of its commissioner to the National InterstateCommission, each state council shall exercise oversight and advocacyconcerning its participation in Interstate Commission activities and otherduties as may be determined by each member state including but not limitedto, development of policy concerning operations and procedures of thecompact within that state.
