Transportation development commission, established, appointment,qualification, meetings--election of officers--expenses.

622.055. 1. A "Transportation Development Commission" ishereby established. It shall consist of five senators appointedby the president pro tem of the senate, five representativesappointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, andfive persons, not less than one of whom shall be an intrastatecertificated carrier, not less than one of whom shall beassociated with a railroad industry, and not less than one ofwhom shall be a shipper, appointed by the director of thedepartment of economic development.

2. The commission shall meet and organize by electing onelegislative member as chairman and another legislative member asvice chairman. The commission shall meet as often as necessaryto carry out its duties at such places as may be convenient forthis purpose.

3. Members shall not receive any compensation for theperformance of their duties, but all shall be reimbursed foractual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance ofthose duties, the legislative members from the contingent fundsof their respective houses, and the public members from fundsappropriated to the department of economic development.
