Disposition of unclaimed personal property of patient.

630.325. If any patient or resident dies, is released, escapes, orotherwise leaves the care of the department, and leaves any article orarticles of tangible personal property in the custody of a departmentfacility, the head of the facility may, in his discretion, after the lapseof one year from the date of such death, release, escape, or otherdeparture, if no claim therefor has been made, transfer the personalproperty to the state agency for surplus property for public or privatesale. If such sale or sales are made, the commissioner of administrationshall transmit the net proceeds thereof to the director of revenue fordeposit in the general revenue fund.
