Costs of benefits may be paid by department--recovery.

630.640. 1. If a client receiving services under thischapter is ineligible for public assistance benefits from anysource, or such benefits are inadequate to meet the costs of suchservices, his monthly costs may be paid or supplemented out offunds appropriated for that purpose to the department.

2. If payments for the support and maintenance of the clientare made from funds appropriated to the department, thedepartment shall charge the client or those responsible for hissupport under this chapter for his support and maintenancepursuant to sections 630.205 to 630.215.
