Training courses to be certified--evaluation by department of healthand senior services, when--violation, effect--accreditationfee--reciprocity with other states.

643.228. 1. Required training courses for certification under section643.225 shall first be accredited by the state. To be accredited, trainingprograms shall meet the training certification and recertificationrequirements for each specialty area outlined in the United States EPA's modelaccreditation plan, 40 CFR Part 763, including passage of a course examinationfor these courses, and the certification requirements for air samplingprofessionals outlined in section 643.225. Such accreditation shall beobtained biennially. A representative of the department or the department ofhealth and senior services shall be permitted to attend, monitor and evaluateany training program without charge to the state. Such evaluations may beconducted without prior notice. Refusal to allow such an evaluation issufficient grounds for loss of certificate of accreditation.

2. An accreditation fee of one thousand dollars per course categoryshall be paid prior to issuance or renewal of a certificate of accreditation,however, no individual, group, agency or organization shall pay more thanthree thousand dollars for all course categories for which accreditation isrequested at the same time.

3. The director may engage in reciprocity agreements with other statesthat have established accreditation criteria for certification trainingprograms that meet or exceed Missouri's accreditation criteria.
