650.255. 1. An inspector's commission may be suspended bythe director after due investigation and recommendation by theboard, for the incompetence or untrustworthiness of the holderthereof or for willful falsification of any matter or statementcontained in his application or in a report of any inspectionmade by him. Written notice of any such suspension shall begiven by the director within not more than ten days thereof tothe inspector and his employer. A person whose commission hasbeen suspended shall be entitled to an appeal to the board asprovided in section 650.285 and to be present in person or to berepresented by counsel at the hearing of the appeal.

2. If the board has reason to believe that a licensedinspector is no longer qualified to hold his commission, theboard shall, upon not less than ten days' written notice to theinspector and his employer, hold a hearing at which the inspectorand his employer shall have an opportunity to be heard. If, as aresult of the hearing, the board finds that the inspector is nolonger qualified to hold his commission, the board shallrecommend to the director that the commission shall be revokedand the director shall thereupon revoke the commission forthwith.

3. A person whose commission has been suspended shall beentitled to apply, after ninety days from the date of thesuspension, for reinstatement of the commission.

4. If a commission is lost or destroyed, a new commissionshall be issued in its place without another examination.
