Limitation on periods of emergency--when assistance to be granted.

660.165. Subject to the sufficiency of funds appropriatedfor this program, emergency assistance grants may be authorizedby the director of the department of social services, or hisdelegate, when a finding is made that an individual familyemergency exists. Such emergency assistance may be authorizedduring only one period of thirty consecutive days in anytwelve-consecutive-month period, including payments which are tomeet needs which arose before the thirty-day period or whichextend beyond the thirty-day period. The program shall providethat a finding that an emergency does or does not exist will bemade and, if applicable, assistance will be granted within threedays after receipt by the department of a properly completedapplication.
