60-493. Organ and tissuedonation; county treasurer or examiner; distribute brochure; additional information;department; duty.When a person applies for anoperator's license or state identification card, the county treasurer or examinerof the Department of Motor Vehicles shall distribute a brochure provided byan organ and tissue procurement organization and approved by the Departmentof Health and Human Services containing a description and explanation of the Revised Uniform AnatomicalGift Act to each person applying for a new or renewal license or card.If an individual desires to receive additional specific informationregarding organ and tissue donation and the Donor Registry of Nebraska asindicated on an application or examiner's certificate under section 60-484, 60-4,144, or 60-4,181, the department shall notify a representative of thefederally designated organ procurement organization for Nebraskawithin five working days of the name and address of such individual.
