The members of the Maine-New Hampshire Commission on Oceanography who represent this state thereon shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the council. The term of office of each shall be for 6 years. For the first appointments of the commission, 2 shall be appointed for 2 years; 2 shall be appointed for 4 years; and 2 shall be appointed for 6 years.
