A peace officer making an arrest on complaints for felony, misdemeanor, or violation charges arising from the same facts or circumstances shall within 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays or before a plea is accepted or entered in court, give notice in writing of all charges pending to the county attorney. Failure to provide such notice shall not affect the validity of the arrest or the prosecution of any charges arising from the arrests.
