The register shall appropriately record all wills and their probate; all proceedings with regard to real estate; all accounts settled, and all orders, decisions, and appointments from which an appeal may be claimed. The register may, in addition to or in lieu of other recording, cause the originals of documents filed to be copied and preserved in a manner provided in the retention and destruction schedule described in RSA 548:6.
