§ 106‑549.60. Notice of violation.

Before any violation of this Article is reported by the Commissioner toany North Carolina district attorney for institution of a criminal proceeding,the person against whom such proceeding is contemplated shall be givenreasonable notice of the alleged violation and opportunity to present his viewsorally or in writing with regard to such contemplated proceeding. Nothing inthis Article shall be construed as requiring the Commissioner or his authorizedrepresentative to report for criminal prosecution of this Article whenever hebelieves that the public interest will be adequately served and compliance withthe Article obtained by a suitable written  notice or warning. (1971, c. 677, s. 13; 1973, c. 47, s. 2.)
