The Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources is hereby designatedas Compact Administrator for this State and shall consult with like officialsof the other member states and shall implement cooperation between such statesin forest fire prevention and control.
At some time before the adjournment of each regular session of theGeneral Assembly, the Governor shall choose one person from the membership ofthe House of Representatives, and shall choose one person from the membershipof the Senate, who shall serve on the advisory committee of the SoutheasternInterstate Forest Fire Protection Compact as provided for in Article III ofsaid Compact. At the time of the selection of the House and Senate members ofsuch advisory committee, the Governor shall choose one alternate member fromthe House of Representatives and one from the Senate who shall serve on suchadvisory committee in case of the death, absence or disability of the regularmembers so chosen.
