Part 6. Injury Prevention.

§ 130A‑224.  Departmentto establish program.

To protect and enhance thepublic health, welfare, and safety, the Department shall establish andadminister a comprehensive statewide injury prevention program. The Departmentshall designate the Division of Public Health as the lead agency for injuryprevention activities. The Division of Public Health shall:

(1)        Develop acomprehensive State plan for injury prevention;

(2)        Maintain an injuryprevention program that includes data collection, surveillance, and educationand promotes injury control activities; and

(3)        Developcollaborative relationships with other State agencies and private and communityorganizations to establish programs promoting injury prevention. (2007‑187, s. 3.)
