§ 143B‑475.  Departmentof Crime Control and Public Safety – functions.

(a)        All functions,powers, duties and obligations heretofore vested in the following subunits ofthe following departments are hereby transferred to and vested in theDepartment of Crime Control and Public Safety:

(1)        The National Guard,Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

(2)        Civil Preparedness,Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

(3)        State Civil AirPatrol, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

(4)        State HighwayPatrol, Department of Transportation.

(5)        State Board ofAlcoholic Control Enforcement Division, Department of Commerce.

(6)        Governor's CrimeCommission, Department of Natural and Economic Resources.

(7)        Crime ControlDivision, Department of Natural and Economic Resources.

(8)        Criminal JusticeInformation System Board, Department of Natural and Economic Resources.

(9)        Criminal JusticeInformation System Security and Privacy Board, Department of Natural andEconomic Resources.

(10)      The CommercialVehicle, Oversize/Overweight, Motor Carrier Safety Regulation and Mobile Homeand Manufactured Housing regulatory and enforcement functions of the Departmentof Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles Enforcement Section.

(11)      Emergency ManagementDivision, Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. The purpose of thissubdivision is to statutorily vest in the Department the powers previouslyconferred on the Division by executive order or otherwise.

(12)      State Capitol Police,Department of Administration.

(b)        The Departmentshall perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Governor.

(c)        All such functions,powers, duties and obligations heretofore vested in any existing agency inArticle 5 of Chapter 143B of the General Statutes are hereby transferred to andvested in the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, except asotherwise provided by the Executive Organization Act of 1973, as amended.

(d)        Repealed by SessionLaws 1983 (Regular Session, 1984), c. 1034, s. 103.

(e)        The Crime Victims CompensationCommission established by Chapter 15B is vested in the Department of CrimeControl and Public Safety. The Commission shall be administered as provided inChapter 15B.  (1977,c. 70, s. 1; 1981, c. 929; 1983, c. 832, s. 3; 1983 (Reg.
