§ 90‑388. Equivalent certification and memberships recognized.

(a)        The Board may grant a certificate as a fee‑basedpracticing pastoral counselor to any person meeting the requirements of G.S. 90‑387(a)who at the time of application is certified as a pastoral counselor by a boardof another state whose standards, in the opinion of the Board, are at leastequal to those required by this Article.  This section applies only when thestate grants similar privileges to residents of this State.  To determine a candidate'squalifications, the Board may require a personal interview and any otherdocumentation the Board deems necessary.

(b)        The Board may grant a certificate as a practicing pastoralcounselor to any person who has been certified as a Fellow or Diplomate by theAmerican Association of Pastoral Counselors if application is made by December31, 1991.  To determine a candidate's qualifications the Board may require apersonal interview and any other documentation the Board deems necessary.

(c)        The Board may grant a certificate as a fee‑basedpastoral counseling associate to any person who has been certified as a memberof the American Association of Pastoral Counselors if application is made byDecember 31, 1991.  To determine a candidate's qualifications, the Board mayrequire a personal interview and any other documentation the Board deemsnecessary.
