§ 16-25.1-4 Teacher certification. –The board of regents for elementary and secondary education shall requireteachers seeking certification to teach students who are blind or visuallyimpaired to demonstrate competency in reading and writing Braille. The boardshall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of the generalstatutes, to establish standards for assessing competency that are consistentwith the standards adopted by the National Library Service for the Blind andPhysically Handicapped, Library of Congress.
