§ 6A-9-301 Law governing perfection andpriority of security interests. – Except as otherwise provided in §§ 6A-9-303 through 6A-9-306, thefollowing rules determine the law governing perfection, the effect ofperfection or nonperfection, and the priority of a security interest incollateral:
(1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, while adebtor is located in a jurisdiction, the local law of that jurisdiction governsperfection, the effect of perfection or nonperfection, and the priority of asecurity interest in collateral.
(2) While collateral is located in a jurisdiction, the locallaw of that jurisdiction governs perfection, the effect of perfection ornonperfection, and the priority of a possessory security interest in thatcollateral.
(3) Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (4), whiletangible negotiable documents, goods, instruments, money, or tangible chattelpaper is located in a jurisdiction, the local law of that jurisdiction governs:
(i) Perfection of a security interest in the goods by filinga fixture filing;
(ii) Perfection of a security interest in timber to be cut;and
(iii) The effect of perfection or nonperfection and thepriority of a nonpossessory security interest in the collateral.
(4) The local law of the jurisdiction in which the wellheador minehead is located governs perfection, the effect of perfection ornonperfection, and the priority of a security interest in as-extractedcollateral.
§ 6A-9-301 Law governing perfection andpriority of security interests. – Except as otherwise provided in §§ 6A-9-303 through 6A-9-306, thefollowing rules determine the law governing perfection, the effect ofperfection or nonperfection, and the priority of a security interest incollateral:
