24-11A-11. Duties and powers of local community correctional board. The duties, purposes, and powers of the local community correctional board are to:
(1) Through consultation with the adult community corrections facility and the department, establish and administer procedures for screening offenders, parolees, and inmates who are to be placed in adult community corrections facilities or programs. This screening shall take into account the risk the potential client may present to themselves and others, as well as the aptitude, attitude, social, and occupational skills of the potential client;
(2) Serve in an advisory capacity for the facility operator and the department in matters related to community acceptance of and involvement in the facility or program;
(3) Act as the official liaison between the department and the adult community corrections facility on matters concerning the acceptance or rejection of offenders, parolees, or inmates as described in § 24-11A-5; and
(4) Meet as often as necessary to review potential clients for placement in the adult community corrections facility.
