24-11A-18. Transfer for safety of client. If the chief administrator of an adult community corrections facility or any other supervising authority has cause to believe that a client cannot be safely housed in that facility, the chief administrator or other supervising authority shall certify to the department the facts and circumstances which are the basis of this belief. The chief administrator or supervising authority shall also execute a transfer order to the sheriff of the county in which the facility is located. The sheriff shall confine the client in the county jail pending a determination by the appropriate judicial or executive authorities as to whether the client shall continue in an adult community corrections facility.
