34-20B-98. Possession and distribution of controlled substances authorized to researchers--Exemption from prosecution. The Department of Health shall, in addition to other powers and duties vested in it by this chapter or any other act, authorize the possession and distribution of controlled drugs and substances by persons engaged in research. Such persons who obtain this authorization shall be exempt from state prosecution for possession and distribution of drugs and substances to the extent authorized by the department.
