34-23B-1. Prenatal effects of drug and alcohol use. Any primary health care provider of obstetrical care to a pregnant woman and any counselor who provides services to a pregnant woman shall educate all pregnant patients as to the prenatal effects of drugs and alcohol. The Department of Health and the Department of Human Services shall offer educational materials and guidance to such physicians, health care providers, and chemical dependency counselors for the purpose of assuring accurate and appropriate patient education.
