45-9-16. Producers, handlers, and processors of oil or gas--Complete and accurate records required, examination by board. Without limiting its general authority, the Board of Minerals and Environment may require, or may delegate to the office of the state geologist, specific authority to require that every person who produces, sells, purchases, acquires, stores, transports, refines, or processes oil or gas in this state shall keep and maintain complete and accurate records of the quantities thereof, which records shall be available for examination by the board or its agents upon request.
