46A-7A-44. Compensation of directors, officers, and employees. For time actually employed in the duties of his office and in attending and returning from sessions of the board and other meetings approved by the board, any director shall receive compensation, per diem and mileage allowances in an amount not to exceed state rates. Any exception may be granted by an affirmative vote of the board. The board shall fix the compensation to be paid to district officers and employees. Such compensation shall be paid from the district general fund.
