§ 6.1-194.153. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Construction of article.

This article, being a general act intended as a comprehensive coverage of itssubject matter, shall not be deemed to be impliedly repealed in whole or inpart by subsequent legislation not specifically repealing it if suchconstruction can be avoided. It is the intention of the General Assemblythat this article shall be liberally construed to effect the purposes set outherein. If any provision, clause, or phrase of this article or theapplication thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, suchinvalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this articlewhich can be given effect without the invalid provisions or application, andto this end the provisions of this article are declared to be separable.
