§287-24  Motor vehicle liability policy
defined.  A "motor vehicle liability policy" as used in this
chapter means an owner's or a driver's policy of liability insurance, certified
as provided in section 287-22 or section 287-23 as proof of financial responsibility,
and issued, except as otherwise provided in section 287-23, by an insurance
carrier duly authorized to transact business in the State, to or for the
benefit of the person named therein as insured. [L 1949, c 393, pt of §1; RL
