[§302A-463]  Advisory commission on genderequity in sports.  (a)  There shall be established within the department ofeducation for administrative purposes only, an advisory commission on genderequity in sports.  The advisory commission may consist of seven membersappointed by the superintendent of education who shall ensure that the advisorycommission represents, to the maximum extent possible, the gender, racial, andethnic diversity of the State.

(b)  The advisory commission shall determine ifany school does not exhibit substantial progress toward compliance with PublicLaw 92-318, Title IX, of the federal Education Amendments of 1972 and section302A-1001.  Based upon its findings and determinations, the advisory commissionmay make recommendations to the board of education, the superintendent ofeducation, and the legislature.

(c)  The advisory commission shall expire threeyears after July 1, 2000. [L 2000, c 229, pt of §1]
