§ 16.1-88.02. Cross-claims.

Subject to the jurisdictional limitations prescribed by law, in anyproceeding before a general district court a defendant may, at his option, atany time before trial, plead in writing as a cross-claim any cause of actionthat he has against one or more defendants growing out of any matter pleadedin the plaintiff's warrant or notice or motion for judgment. The court mayorder and hold a separate hearing upon any cause of action asserted in across-claim.
