§286-201 - Definitions.

§286-201 Definitions. As used in thispart unless the context otherwise requires:
"Director" means the director oftransportation.
"Gross vehicle weight rating" meansthe value specified by the manufacturer as the loaded weight of a singlevehicle. When there is no value specified by the manufacturer as the loadedweight of a single vehicle, the value shall be determined in accordance withrules adopted by the director.
"Motor carrier" as used in this partmeans any person who owns a motor vehicle used in, or engages in thetransportation of persons or property by motor vehicle on the public highwaysin the furtherance of any commercial, industrial, or educational enterprise.
"Motor carrier vehicle" means anymotor vehicle or vehicle, including integrally mounted equipment and speciallyconstructed motorized equipment, used by a motor carrier to transportpassengers or property on the public highways.
