§291C-205  Unlawful to possess certainmopeds and moped parts.  It shall be unlawful for any person to possess amoped, a moped motor, or any moped part knowing that the serial oridentification number placed thereon by the manufacturer has been changed, altered,erased or mutilated.

This section shall not prohibit the possessionof a moped, a moped motor, or any moped part whose original mark or number hasbeen restored when the restoration is authorized in writing by the director offinance, nor prohibit any manufacturer from placing in the ordinary course ofbusiness numbers or marks upon new mopeds or new parts thereof.  Violation ofthis section shall be a misdemeanor and shall result in a fine of not more than$500.
