§291C-81 Required position and method ofturning at intersections. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at anintersection shall do so as follows:
(1) Right turns. Both the approach for a right turnand a right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curbor edge of the roadway.
(2) Left turns. The driver of a vehicle intending toturn left at any intersection shall approach the intersection in the extremeleft-hand lane lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction of travelof such vehicle, and, after entering the intersection, the left turn shall bemade so as to leave the intersection in a lane lawfully available to trafficmoving in such direction upon the roadway being entered. Whenever practicablethe left turn shall be made in that portion of the intersection to the left ofthe center of the intersection.
(3) The director of transportation and the countiesin their respective jurisdictions may cause official traffic-control devices tobe placed within or adjacent to intersections and thereby require and directthat a different course from that specified in this section be traveled byvehicles turning at an intersection, and when such devices are so placed nodriver of a vehicle shall turn a vehicle at an intersection other than asdirected and required by such devices.
