§ 1697. -Deeds, mortgages, and other public records

A copy of the record of a deed, mortgage or public record of another state or foreign country shall be received by the courts of this state as prima facie evidence of such document, if such copy is certified under oath to be a true copy thereof by a person who certifies under oath that he is the legal custodian thereof, and that the laws of such state or foreign country require such document to be recorded.
