§ 16. Duties of secretary in unorganized towns and gores

The secretary shall have the same power in all matters pertaining to the highways in unorganized towns and gores that selectboards have in organized towns, and may spend any available funds including state aid and local taxes to assist unorganized towns and gores for this purpose. After exhausting the right of administrative appeal to the board under section 5(d)(3) of this title, landowners shall have the same right to appeal from the decision of the board in the exercise of this power, as in like proceedings by selectboards in organized towns.
