§ 20. Small claims for injury or damage

When a claim is made for personal injuries or property damage, or both, sustained as the result of the negligence of any employee of the agency, the board may hear all parties in interest and may award damages not to exceed $2,000.00. When damages are awarded, the board shall certify its findings to the commissioner of finance and management who shall issue his or her warrant for the amount of the award, with payment in the manner prescribed by 12 V.S.A. § 5604.
