§ 2221. Employment

At the expense of the state, the governor may employ sheriffs, deputy sheriffs and constables for the preservation of the public peace when in his judgment the public good requires it. The commissioner of finance and management shall issue his warrant in payment of such expense upon the approval of the governor. (1959, No. 328 (Adj. Sess.), § 8(b); 1983, No. 195 (Adj.
