§ 2784. Determination of the amount of the grant

(a)(1) The amount of the grant may only be used by an applicant to:

(A) employ professional personnel to direct a program of regional economic development;

(B) pay the operating expenses associated with professional personnel included in the grant;

(C) employ or contract for the services of a small business development specialist, or a manufacturing extension service specialist.

(2) To the extent that funds are available, the amount of the grant shall be determined by the secretary. Funds may be provided for the purpose of implementing a job development zone designated under 10 V.S.A. chapter 29, subchapter 2.

(b) The grant shall be made for a period not to exceed one year under such terms and conditions as the secretary prescribes. However, at the end of a grant period the applicant may reapply for another grant in the same manner as an original application.

(c) Payments of the amounts granted shall be made at a time specified by the secretary. On the direction of the secretary, the commissioner of finance and management shall issue his warrant and the state treasurer shall pay the amounts granted.
